Stuart's Opera House is a registered historic building in Nelsonville, Ohio, listed on the National Register on December 29, 1978. It is an Opera House and live music performance theatre that was built in 1879, and continues to be used to this day.

The Hockhocking Adena Bikeway is a scenic, 22-mile paved rail-trail extending from Nelsonville to Athens, passing through the Hocking River valley near Hocking Hills. The flat, family-friendly path offers a direct, accessible route for cyclists and walkers between the two towns, often featuring wooded scenery, historical, and local dining spots along the way. 

Lake Hope State Park is a public recreation area encompassing 2,983 acres within Zaleski State Forest, located five miles northeast of Zaleski in Vinton County, Ohio. The state park is centered on Lake Hope, a 120-acre impoundment on Big Sandy Run.

Old Man's Cave is a popular destination featuring stunning Blackhand sandstone gorges, waterfalls (Upper/Lower Falls), and the unique Devil's Bathtub.

The Hocking Valley Scenic Railway is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization primarily operated by volunteer members and dedicated the restoration, operation and maintenance of historic railroad equipment for the education and entertainment of the general public. Since our founding in 1972, we have operated historic train rides out of Nelsonville and restored numerous historical locomotives, passenger cars and more.
