The Jellystone Park campground near Rochester was recently featured on examiner.com. Here’s an excerpt from the article written by Rebecca Lucyshyn, who is part of a stay-at-home moms group:
Pure family fun is what comes to mind to describe Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park Camp Resorts! A very short drive from Rochester, Buffalo, and Niagara Falls, and located in North Java, New York, this is not your parent’s campground! This campground has something for everyone. It has campsites for tents and trailers. For those who like the comforts of home, there are also cabins (deluxe and lakefront), chalet homes, and deluxe trailers, all with air conditioning, kitchen areas, color tv, and more! The prices vary with sites having different seasons (i.e. in season, 4th of July, other holiday weekends, and also a half off Spring and Fall season).
The whole family will love the Water Zone! Bring your beach bag and towels and set up at one of the many cabana tables/chairs that are spread out around the whole water zone. Be prepared to get soaking wet once you enter the water zone! This is similar to a climbing playground complete with every type of water spray gun imaginable, dumping water buckets, a big tower that every so often gives a warning before it squirts out an unbelievable amount of water! There are two smaller straight blue waterslides, and a red and a yellow twisty water slide. When parents aren’t in the water, they can see most areas of the water zone from the center area if they set up at the cabana chair/tables in that area!
The recreation program is also fabulous! Each morning, an energetic camp director starts off with a flag ceremony and exercises! They then give a morning hayride that takes you around the whole campground, which consists of songs, and an appearance and pictures (your camera) with either Yogi Bear or Cindy Bear! They also do the hayride at night!

The weekend also features competitions to see if Dad can outsmart, outrun or out eat his kids with bug eating, mud slinging events.
Cherokee, NC – Activities include a special ‘Dads Only’ frozen t-shirt contest, Dads vs. Kids tug-of-war, and a Father’s Day hot dog cook out.

North Java, NY – Bring your remote controlled boats and cars for the RC Races on the Yogi course, or bring a box and decorate your own unique race car to compete for prizes in Jellystone’s unique family race! The Father and Son/Daughter look-a-like contest and competition is always a winner as well.
Austin, MN – Dad’s can compete in the 2nd annual Father’s Day Golf Cart Rodeo (loner carts available) or horseshoe tourney. After that, Dad’s can join the Jellystone Park staff for the annual Dads’ get-together pool side.
Whether it’s cheering your Dad onto victory in a race or tournament, or laughing it up alongside Mom as Dad struts his stuff in a t-shirt contest or beauty pageant, one thing is for sure! Dad will have a Father’s Day full of memories he’ll cherish forever.

In 2010, two campgrounds have earned the Facility of the Year award, which recognizes campgrounds that have added new amenities and facilities to their operations, and have shown sustained improvements overall. The first campground in North Java, NY saw tremendous growth in 2009 after opening Yogi Bear’s Water Zone – a 16,000 square foot interactive splash park featuring slides, a fort, water cannons and spray features. They also added deluxe cabins to increase their appeal to families. The second campground in Natural Bridge, VA , also added water attractions to their campground, including dual slides and multiple spray features.
Congratulations to these New York and Virginia campgrounds!
A recent episode of “The Today Show” featured an area that’s very special to Jellystone Park Camp-Resorts: Lake George in the Adirondack Mountains of New York state. This incredibly beautiful and fun-filled region was included as part of the show’s “Today Takes a Vacation” series, which highlights America’s best family destinations and all they have to offer. From flyfishing and trail riding, to ziplining through the mountain forests and parasailing on the gorgeous blue lake waters, the Lake George region is the perfect all-American vacation. Six Flags Great Escape will satisfy the theme park lovers, and as the Today Show team (especially Meredith Veira and Ann Curry) discovered, there’s even a huge offering for history buffs: check out Fort William Henry for nightly ghost stories, cannon and musket firings and even a chance for the kids to dress up like soldiers from the French and Indian War.
In the heart of it all is, the Jellystone Park in North Hudson, NY. It’s nestled deep inside Adirondack Park, a short drive to Lake George and Lake Placid. With more than 20 years of Adirondack camping under their belts, the Paradise Pines team can help you plan the perfect getaway.
There’s so much to do, whether Jellystone Park at Paradise Pines is your home base for exploring the area or your destination in itself. Check out plans for the next few weeks and get ready for a great time, Adirondack style. Maybe you’ll even run into the famous Lake George Monster!
The Jellystone Park in Mexico, NY, has added a new level of fun for your family vacation. Now you can battle it out in the Water Wars area, where players launch water balloons at the other team to score points. It’s a lot of fun and a great way to cool off on a hot summer day. So if you are camping in New York, be sure to check out the Jellystone Park in Mexico or any of the other five great Jellystone Park locations.

Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park of western New York in North Java is excited to announce the grand opening of Yogi Bear’s Water Zone – a 16,000-square-foot interactive water playground with water cannons, a fort, a Hydrostorm, waterslides and much more. The Water Zone pool is perfect for families – even those with little ones – and offers a zero entry area, progressing to 12 inches deep in the middle. It’s themed and broken into three areas aimed at specific age groups – toddlers (1-2 years old), preschoolers (2-5 years old) and older children (5-12 years old.) But with the cannons and slides, teens and grown-ups can count on having just as much fun as the small fry! You can join in the fun when Yogi Bear’s Water Zone opens this summer.
