Private Or Public, Which Campground Suits You?

Private Or Public, Which Campground Suits You?

It’s no secret that Americans love camping. In fact, 40 million campers go on 515 million outings every year, and the average camping trip lasts a little over 14 days at a time. Family camping trips are easily one of the biggest past times in America.

But when you’re camping you want to find the best place to do so. From RV parks and cabin rentals to family campgrounds that have a little bit of everything included, there are a lot of options. The only thing that limits you is how far want to go.

You can choose Ohio campgrounds or campgrounds in Texas, each having their own set of unique benefits. The only real difference, outside location, would be whether you want a public campground, or a private one.

What’s the difference, you ask? It turns out there are quite a few.

Public Campgrounds

Public campground stays are cheaper, and often have a lot more sites for you to choose from. They also often have rivers, streams, and oceanfront sites for you to enjoy during your vacation.

But like all things, they have a few downsides. Some of these campgrounds have lot of party goers, lack water and electricity, and can be booked super quickly. You usually have to call or book online several weeks or months in advance to get a good reservation.

Private Campgrounds

A private campground, on the other hand, can offer full hook ups at nearly every site. This means you can hook up your RV, if you have one, to the systems, have power, and access to a functional restroom. No more running to the public one at night.

They also have more amenities, like pools, game rooms, playgrounds, and similar things. And, they’re easier to get reservations for.

A private campground is also more like a camp resort than a campsite.

Both both have their benefits, and both can be found in plenty of states. So whether you’re looking at Ohio campgrounds or campgrounds in Texas, consider if you want public or private. Hopefully this information will make the decision a little easier to decide! Then find your park at Jellystone and make your reservation today for a great camping trip.
