Make Montana Your Late Summer DestinationMontana Cabins for Family Camping!
Exploring our national parks has long been a favorite summer pastime for Americans, and it would be hard to find a state with more federally protected natural beauty than Montana.  Both Glacier National Park and Yellowstone National Park have tremendous views, attractions and activities to offer any family, and lucky for campers, Jellystone Park™ Camp-Resorts has the perfect place to stay on your way through or as your home base:  the Jellystone Park Camp-Resort in Missoula.

This park has been honored as one of the Top 50 RV Parks in the United States and Canada by Trailer Life and has received many Jellystone Park system awards for excellence.  Nestled in the heart of majestic Big Sky Country with plenty of campsites and six cabins to choose from, the Missoula Jellystone Park is the most complete RV park resort in the West.  Families will love the heated swimming pool, the playground, miniature golf course, game room, adult lounge, kiddie pool and basketball courts.  The campground was recently equipped with wireless internet throughout the facility, so everyone can stay plugged in (if you really want to!)

And of course the natural splendor of Glacier and Yellowstone National Parks are easily within your reach.  Glacier National Park has more than 1.4 million acres of wilderness and some of the most spectacular scenery in the western U.S.  The park gets its name from the more than 50 glaciers that dot its landscape, not to mention more than 200 lakes and streams and 700 miles of hiking trails.  Archeology buffs will want to scout the evidence of over 10,000 years of human occupation of the area, while outdoor enthusiasts will love the hiking, back country backpacking, fishing and boating offered during the summer months.  Yellowstone, for its part, is America's first national park, with more than 2.2 million acres of wilderness to explore.  Situated atop a volcanic basin, Yellowstone is home to more geysers than any other parcel of land in the world.  The most famous geyser is of course Old Faithful, which attracts millions of visitors each year to see its spectacle.

Also within easy driving distance of the Missoula Jellystone Park Camp-Resort is the National Bison Range - a wildlife refuge with 18,000 acres sheltering bison, pronghorn antelope, black bear, elk and deer.  Nearby you'll also find  golfing, fishing, river rafting and endless outdoor activities!

Dessert, Little Guy Style

Here's an easy, tasty and unusual dessert that the kids will love helping you make.

Tent Camping and Pinic Fun!Bacon & Eggs
  • Stick pretzels, any kind
  • Yellow M&MsR, peanut, plain or some of both
  • White chocolate
Group pretzels together by taking three stick pretzels and putting them next to one another.  Break up the white chocolate and melt in the microwave for about 45 seconds or until melted.  If some parts of chocolate are chunky and some are melted, stir together until completely melted.  Slowly pour one teaspoonful of melted chocolate over center of each group of three stick pretzels.  Next, place one M&M in center of white chocolate.  Refrigerate until chocolate is hard.  Check out the resemblance - a candy version of bacon and eggs!
