New Jellystone Park Campground In Delaware

Delaware Beach Fishing

You’ll find the new Jellystone Park campground in Delaware on Brick Granary Road in Lincoln, just minutes from the Atlantic Ocean and Delaware Bay’s miles of family beaches. With tent, pull-thru and roomy RV sites, the campground can accommodate any camping style. Each site offers a picnic table and fire ring, and guests have the option of a concrete slab or decking. Add a pool, clubhouse, horseshoe pit, playground, walking trails and more, and you’ve got the perfect beachside destination.

This summer, owner Brent Fannin and his family plan to expand the park’s activities program. And look for an outdoor theater, cabin rentals and a pedal kart track to be added in the future. The season opens April 15 with a Grand Opening bash planned for Memorial Day Weekend. A full schedule of summer themed weekends is already on the books; your family will love Under the Sea Weekend, Death by Chocolate, and Relaxin’ with Yogi Bear.

Get Moving! Staying Active This Winter

Short, cold, snowy winter days make it tough to keep the family active and healthy! Add school closings to the mix, and cooped-up kids (and parents) start to long for the outside weather of the rest of the year. With spring still a long way off, it’s easy to resign yourself to being sluggish – but don’t despair! There are plenty of ways to burn off extra energy, keep the whole family active and even have a great time between now and Daylight Savings Time!

Lace up your skates! Ice skating is a perfect wintertime activity to get the family moving – and have lots of fun doing it. If no one knows how to ice skate, sign up for group lessons and learn something new together. Then there’s roller skating; what better way to revisit your youth than to take the kids to the roller rink? And they even have those awesome disco balls.

Let Rover lead the way. Your dog just may miss the outdoors more than anyone. And he doesn’t care if he gets snow in his coat. Romping with him outside in the snow will warm the kids up in no time and give them a great workout.

Just too dang cold to go outside? Plug into the Wii (or PlayStation, or Xbox.) There are plenty of games out there that will get you moving, but a family favorite is the Let’s Dance series. Great music, groovy moves and perfect for family night.

Don’t forget the old standbys! Sledding, skiing and snowshoeing are wonderful exercise and perfect for making great memories. Our new Jellystone Park in Madison, Maine , with its heated cabins, is a great home base to explore the area rich in winter activities including snowmobiling.

Get your swim on! Find an indoor water park at your YMCA or community center, or just swim laps. Jellystone Park Campgrounds in Frankenmuth, MI and Canyon Lake, TX have indoor swimming pools that create a wonderful wintertime destination.

Top Pick for 2011, Luray, Virginia

water-slidebig

Your family’s list of must-visit destinations for 2011 just got a little longer: Jellystone Park Camp-Resort in Luray, VA has been named Camp-Resort of the Year for the Jellystone Park franchise. The Camp-Resort of the Year award is the highest honor in the franchise, recognizing one campground above all the rest as the very best of the best for management, operations, appearance and performance.

Owned by the Rust family, the picturesque Luray Jellystone Park is found at the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. You’ll find Luray Caverns, world-famous Skyline Drive and the main entrance to Shenandoah National Park just a few miles away.

The park boasts lovely tent and RV sites, as well as 50 cabins. There’s even the Three Bears Lodge, which sleeps 10 and includes a gas fireplace. Activities abound for every member of the family – a twisting, turning tornado of a waterslide; Laser Tag; pedal boats; Old Faceful gem mining; two swimming pools, including one with a spray feature; kiddie pool; miniature golf; fishing; a game room; and a Jumping Pillow. The kids will have the time of their lives (while building memories to last a lifetime) and they’ll be so worn out at the end of the day, bedtime will be a snap, leaving you plenty of time to unwind by the campfire in peace.

While Jellystone Park Camp-Resort at Luray is open year-round, some activities are seasonal. Planned activities and themed weekends kick off March 26 with the Wake Up the Bears/Two for One Weekend, when guests can camp two nights for the price of one (not valid on cabins and cottages.) Visit http://www.campluray.com/for a full schedule and rates.

Jellystone Parks™ Receive Top Honors from Woodall’s

Woodall’s has awarded 15 Jellystone Park™ Campgrounds their coveted 5W/5W rating. This dual rating system is based on the development of the park’s facilities and its recreation. In general, the more W’s a campground is awarded, means the camper will find a more resort-like experience. Another vital consideration is a park’s overall maintenance. No matter the park’s amenities, a park can only receive 5W if it achieves a certain standard of up-keep and cleanliness.

The next time you are in the mood for camping in resort-like style, visit one of our parks who can proudly claim this honor! Those parks are: Amboy, IL; Fremont, IN; Lawrence, KS; Williamsport, MD; Frankenmuth, MI; Austin, MN; Pelahatchie, MS; Woodridge, NY; Gardiner, NY; North Hudson, NY; Aurora, OH; Mill Run, PA; Caledonia, WI; Wisconsin Dells, WI; Niagara Falls, ON.

Get Your Beam On with Laser Tag

Cool, crisp days (and evenings) are perfect for a family game of Laser Tag! This high-tech combination of tag and hide-and-seek is fun for everyone from kindergarteners to the grandparents – and it’s sure to get your blood pumping. The game began in the 1970s during the sci-fi heyday, and has since grown into a full-fledged phenomenon. Players are given a laser gun to “shoot” members of the opposite team. Everyone gets into the act as you duck behind trees, crouch between shrubs and creep along the side of buildings, looking for your best shot while avoiding the laser beam of your opponents.

Lasar tag fun with Jellystone Park™.

You’ll find Laser Tag games at three Jellystone Park™ Campgrounds: in Hagerstown, MD , where you can play at night; in Luray, VA , where you’ll also find pedal boats, miniature golf, and “Old Faceful” Mining Company; and at Canyon Lake, TX , where you’ll love the jumping pillow, heated indoor pool and tubing down the Guadalupe River.
Choose your team and get ready for a great time!
